The important meta tag that we may need sometime is the Robots Meta tag which looks like this:
Using the above meta tag, we can tell a spider or a robot that we do not want some of your pages indexed, or that we do not want your links followed.

Generally robot.txt used to Allow or Disallow your web directory. Suppose in your website you are some content pages which you dont like to show up on search engines then you can write that directory name on robot.txt.
